I am currently a shift Captain with Hamilton County EMS in Chattanooga. I have worked as a 911 paramedic since 1990. Working 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty allows me plenty of time to do what I enjoy most...just being outdoors. Other than spending time with the family, there is nothing I would rather be doing than hunting or fishing. I love to fish and also hunt deer, turkey, and doves. Doing these things with my son for the past several years has just made it that much more fun for me.
I have been fishing since a was a young boy and for years it was not really species specific. In the last few years, I seem to have become addicted to bass fishing and also competitive bass fishing. Occasionally I will take others out catfishing or crappie fishing, but I can't stop wandering what the green fish are doing when we are out. I have caught several blue catfish over 50 lbs while bass fishing and all I can remember thinking is how irritated I was that they were not bass! No excitement for catching such a huge fish just feeling irritated that it bent my jig or spoon hook. LOL
After working in a stressful environment for almost two decades, I suppose being on the water or in the woods is my therapy and keeps me somewhat sane. I can tell in the last couple of years, bass fishing is even taking precedence over hunting for me as I tend to fish later and later into deer season in the fall.
This time of year, you can find my fishing partner and I competing in our CBA series locally and various large open tournaments in the southeast. We also don't like to miss the SnagProof open or the McDonald's Big Bass Splash! We will also be fishing the 2009 $1million Big Bass Splash at Lake Sam Rayburn in Texas.
Primary lakes fished: Watts Bar, Lake Chickamauga, Lake Nickajack, and Lake Guntersville all on the TN river chain.
Favorite fishing lures/styles: Topwater frogs, spinnerbaits, and jigs.
Favorite Indian Creek Lure: The Brush Hawg Jig in the 'FishHunter' color(black/pumpkin/chart.) with a Venom Sweet Dream chunk.
Favorite Set-up: Abu Garcia Revo's and ALLSTAR Rods
Bass Rig: Triton Boat, Mercury Optimax Motor, and Chev. Silverado Truck.
Favorite Time of Year to fish: Right now baby!
